MP4 files exported from the Dolby Atmos Renderer can be used a source files for creating and hosting streaming media assets.

This can be useful for remote mix approvals from multiple locations or when it is not practical to download and sideload MP4 files for local playback. This can also be useful to test Atmos playback on consumer devices that cannot accept sideloaded MP4 files.

Creating and hosting streaming media requires some understanding of streaming media protocols and content delivery networks (CDNs).

Packaging streaming media locally can be done with command line tools such as Bento4 and Shaka. Streaming assets can be tested locally using MAMP Apache server.

Using cloud-based platforms such as AWS Elemental MediaConvert to package and host streaming media can be a better and more user-friendly option. AWS Elemental MediaConvert can alternatively be used to encode/transcode video assets and to encode Atmos master files.
