Dolby creates and licenses audio and video technologies that are inside many of these consumer devices, but does not design or manufacturer the devices themselves. If a Dolby technology logo appears on your product or in the product's user manual, then the hardware manufacturer has licensed Dolby technology. For example, manufacturers of Blu-ray Disc™ players, DVD disc players, and A/V receivers license Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus technologies so that you can enjoy a surround sound experience.
