You can sync your DAW to the Dolby Atmos Renderer using the Dolby LTC Generator plug-in, which is available as an AAX, AU, and VST (Mac only)

In Pro Tools, the LTC Generator AAX Plug-in is located in: multi-mono plug-in > other > Dolby LTC Generator.



If you are using the I/O Setup provided with the Music Panner installer, channel 130 is already mapped to an LTC bus and should be available as an output. If not, go to I/O Setup and configure channels 129 or 130 to route the LTC over audio.



The LTC Generator should go on a mono audio track routed to output 129 or 130. Once the plug-in is inserted on the track it will generate LTC audio at the session frame rate whenever the transport is engaged.



In Logic Pro, the LTC Generator AU Plug-in must be placed in the Instrument slot on a Software Instrument track. It is located in AU Generators > Dolby Laboratories > Dolby LTC Generator > Mono (use the mono version of the plug-in).



Once the LTC Generator has been placed on the track, route the output of the track to mono output 129 or 130. In the AU version of the plug-in you can set the frame rate and start time offset. The plug-in will generate LTC audio whenever the transport is engaged.

Note: When using with the Dolby Atmos Music Panner v1.2 the Start time should always be set to 00:00:00:00.



In Ableton Live, the LTC Generator VST3 Plug-in can be placed on an audio or MIDI track. It is located in Plug-Ins > VST 3 > Dolby Laboratories > Dolby LTC Generator.



Verify that mono outputs 129 & 130 of the Dolby Audio Bridge have been enabled in the Output Config (located in Preferences > Audio).

Once the LTC Generator has been placed on the track, route the output of the track to Ext. Out - 129 or 130. In the VST3 version of the plug-in you can set the frame rate and start time offset. The plug-in will generate LTC audio whenever the transport is engaged.

Note: When using with the Dolby Atmos Music Panner v1.2 the Start time should always be set to 00:00:00:00.



For other DAWs that can use the AU/VST3 plug-in, the LTC plug-in should be in the system plug-ins folder.

Independent of the DAW, you will need to configure the Dolby Atmos Renderer to accept the incoming LTC on channel 129 or 130. This setting can be found in the Drive tab in the Renderer preferences:

 

Enable sync in the Renderer main window:

The Renderer will now chase your session transport via LTC over audio.
