Inconsistent metering with live Binaural Re-Render using Pro Tools Internal Atmos Renderer
I've noticed the binaural re-renders in PT are inconsistent in their metering (using latest version of PT). If I loop the same mix then some passes report a peak (hitting limiter), whilst others are fine. I don't think I'm getting this issue with the Dolby Atmos Renderer (DAPS), but it's harder to test as you can't loop / jump to a section of an ADM master file...
I'm metering using an AUX track with PT own meters and clip indicators, as well as using a third party plugin to confirm the reading. Am I correct in assuming the metering for a binaural render should be consistent on every playback? If it isn't then I'd be curious as to why!
I have not tested this with offline bounces, only live printing for QC checks.
Any insights / help would be appreciated.
ps. I appreciate this may be more of an Avid issue, but would like to confirm from a Dolby perspective.
